Dissecting Frogs Can Be Fun...or something.

WARNING: Some of these pictures are sooooo gross!!!

Yesterday, Isabel invited me to come to her science class to dissect a frog with her. I was so excited....uh...yes, so...very....very excited....hmmm.

When I first got to class, we were all smiles and good times.

We thought our frog was so cute.

We made her sing. We made her dance.

Then the dissecting began.

We had a girl frog that was full of eggs. We had to scrape out the eggs and find all the organs. We even cut open her stomach and found a bunch of beetles she was trying to digest. Yum-O!

Sadly, by the end, there was no more singing and dancing for our frog or for Isabel, for that matter.
The party was over and so was that poor frog.
The good news is... I now know what the inside of a frog looks like. I feel a little smarter today. Thanks, Isabel.

I've NEVER dissected a frog... I'm so jealous. I have helped with a sheep's lung and a cow eyeball, though. Not quite as gross. But YOU'VE been inside a beef processing plant... nothing can top that, I'm sure. Your daughter is so cute - she must take after her pretty mom :-)

That definitely brought me back to my Oakville High School science class days! Good for Isabel! Maybe next time you can help out with the cow heart! Have a great one! ~Laura
