Tornados and other disasters

Okay, so I am totally missing The Hills to write this post. Oh, whatever, you people all read about 100 year old vampires that fall in love with whiny seventeen year old girls. Don't judge!

Anyway, my sister Hollie (by the way, thanks for caring) calls me Sunday night and says, "Are you in your basement?" I said, "No, why?" She says, "There is a tornado in your area." I say, "Really?" Then, I look out the window and see this...

and then I go outside and see this...

and this...crazy!

The kids were freaking out...they took all of our pillows to the basement along with Eddy and kept telling us to come. It was quite the sight. It apparently didn't last long and there was no damage, so that was good.

And then almost as scary as the tornado, was the grand opening weekend at our brand new neighborhood Costco.
What is it about Costco that brings out the crazy in people? I swear, once you turn into the parking lot people forget how to drive, when to yield, when to back out, and when and how to park. Seriously, I don't hate a lot of things, but I hate Costco. But you don't understand, I have to go there.

Anyway, finally after I maneuvered around all the crazies in the parking lot, I go inside. First thing I notice is that it is totally laid out differently than the Costco I am used to, plus it is jammed packed! oh boy! So there I am (after I ate a pretty gross hot dog) looking all around the store (like "look at the pretty lights" kind of looking). Not noticing where I am going, I totally bump this man in the bum. Luckily, he was in good humor especially compared to the crazies that just came in from the parking lot, and he was also very nice when I apologized, admitting that I should really look where I am going. It was so nuts in there, that I couldn't remember what I really wanted to buy. So, I did a couple of laps around the store and got the heck out of there. Hopefully, things calm down there and I really am excited that there is a Costco that is so close. However, what I did learn from this experience is that it doesn't matter how well the parking lot is laid out, Costco does things to people. It's like a drug and we keep coming back for more!!!

haha! i'm actually missing the Hills and I didn't TiVo it. Really though I only like the part where they show what's happening on the next episode so I'm sure I'll be able to catch right up! So Brooke and her husband and us had mutual friends and then all ended up becoming friends. They met in the same ward bldg as us. She's a real nice girl!!! yes, she's my celebrity in!

Those pictures are amazing. I just saw the tornado report on the news and thought of you. Wow, I didn't realize how close they really were to you. Glad all is well.

Costco wouldn't have so many Crazies if they didn't offer free food samples. All of the polygamists in St. George go there every Saturday to feed their hundreds of kids (my parents and the rest of the retired population go for free lunch as well). It is a MAD HOUSE.

Pillows... I didn't think about pillows. Hmmmm... And I didn't even think about the cat! Should I feel guilty? We changed out of church clothes, got into pants and tennis shoes, and waited. Steve thought it was cool, I was freaking out! So was poor Madalyn. Landon wasn't sure what was going on. I only wish I had my head on straight enough to grab the camera.

I am glad Hollie was able to warn you! Sorry, don't watch the news until bright and early in the morning.

I didn't know you loved the Hills?! HELLO!! It is so good, right?! Did you see last night? So good. I use to like Lo a lot but she is being a beast. And I wouldn't mind stabbing Spencer in the eyeball with a fork.

You hit it right on the spot with Costco! It is a drug and I need a fix...... The only problem is the closest one is 5 hours away in Albuquerque! Next closest either Dallas or Denver!!

oh yeah, the free food. Why didn't I think of that?

And we are about to enter that world of crazy. Our Costco here in Pocatello opens in a month or so. After living there 9 years, I can testify to the St. George polygamist craziness.
