It had been a nice day. It was my birthday. I just turned 25, no wait, I mean 35. Gary worked from home, I got to go to the gym and run some errands while Gary stayed with the boys. We were going to have a birthday dinner that night. Around 4:00pm we started talking about what we should do for dinner. I decided that I would like some Brother's BBQ, so Gary took Isabel to go and get it. I said, "Hey, why don't you take Eddy?" Bad Idea. Right at the intersection as Gary was turning, Eddy had his head out the window. Eddy then proceeded to step on the button that rolls up the window. Do you see where this is going? As the window is rolling up, his head gets stuck in the window, Isabel screams (not just any scream, but a blood-curdling "my dog is going to totally be beheaded and die" scream), Gary turns his head to look back. While he is turning the corner and looking back at Eddy, he misses the turn, goes up on the curb and hits this yellow pole that is sticking up about four feet out of the ground. Not a wussy little thing, but a full on heavy duty 1/2 a pole. I have never seen one of these in my life. It takes off about a 1/3 of the front bumper. We finally got around to taking the car into the shop and $4,000 later we can get the car fixed. We are trying to get rid of the car because Gary got a new job in Downtown Denver and it is just a gas guzzler. Too bad we probably won't get that much for it. Now, when I took the car into the shop yesterday, I told this same story to the lady taking my info and she said that I made her day. It just goes to show that one man's tragedy is another man's pick-me-up.
The good news: We are such good drivers, as you can tell, that our insurance loves us and is dropping our deductible to $200.00 and we get a free accident, which means, this never happened. Shhhhhhhhhh!

Kellie! Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day! Oh, aside from the accident! I'm glad nobody was hurt but that stinks about Gary's car!
What a great story! Also, I'm happy to hear that Gary got a new job - even if it is downtown. too bad you're not moving to UT! HAHA!Although that's exciting that Hollie's moving to CO. You guys are going to have so much fun.
Kristy, thanks, but my b-day was in Feb. We just got around to getting the car fixed. How sad is that?
Thanks, Darcy, I think I was in denial there for a minute, I was going to email you. Luckily, it only lasted three weeks. Maybe we can move to Utah the next time it happens. You never know.
Kellie that is so crazy!! I was so nervous that Eddy died, I am so glad he is alive and ok! Did you hear Jerry accidentally hit Lula the other night? She is fine, but what's up with these dogs?! :) That is such a blessing with the car insurance too!! I am glad that it never happened.. We love and miss you tons!
OK so I am with the lady at the shop! That story was totally a pick-me-up. I am so sorry about the accident and the $4000, but that is one of those stories that is so funny when it didn't happen to you! I love Eddy.
