The last three days we have been potty training Jack. He doesn't get it. But that is okay. This potty training thing is so consuming that I have to tell everyone that my four year old boys are not completely potty trained. Is that sad? That is sad. It doesn't matter, does it? Does this mean I am lazy? It's like, how hard is it to put in the potty? Seriously. Today he screamed and screamed for, I am not kidding, thirty minutes because he wanted to wear his diaper while he ate his breakfast and not put on his underwear. Yes, he wears a diaper to sleep because I love to sleep. I mean, I LOVE to sleep. I don't want to get up in the middle of the night and change sheets. But really, I loathe potty training. Potty training boys is probably the worst thing next to throwing up in my book. I really don't like to throw up. Oh, that reminds me of something. Did you know that you can lose 300 calories a day just by being jittery? Do you know what else? Every time I say that to people they say, "no wonder why you are so skinny." I realize I have a lot of energy, but actually if I really DID have a lot of energy, wouldn't my house be spotless all the time? Well, it's not. So, I don't think I am THAT jittery. Maybe I am only jittery when I am around people. That would make sense. I wish I was more jittery at home, then I would get a lot more done. Instead, I sit here and read blogs and write blogs and listen to screaming potty trainees...and so it goes.
Disclaimer: I don't condone throwing up to lose weight, but there is nothing wrong with being jittery.

I like your mindless ranting, It makes me feel normal.
Hummmm....that's a tough one. We'll work on that when I live there:)
I have had several friends that have gone into year 5 with potty training. The one thing that each of them has said is that one day the child just wakes up and decided to do it. Then it's done. No constant accidents etc...! I'm totally with you, I HATE potty training! Good luck!
Is your sister Hollie moving close to you?! That would be so fun!! Sorry but I laugh everytime I read your blog. I love how you describe things and write about them! Your blog is my favorite!! Sorry they aren't potty trained yet, that's a total bummer! Maybe when they don't go pee in the toilet you could teach them to pee in the yard like Eddy. Good advice?! ha ha
i liked lindsey's comment that the potty training thing is a BUMmer.
so i decided to let russ potty train grant. wow- that was an experience. grant came running out of the bathroom at chile's and yelled through the restaurant "mom, i shot my tally-wacker and then i shook it". nice. i also bought him some dinosaur underwear, cause that is what he was in to at the time. russ told him if he pee'd on the dinosaurs they would bite his tally-wacker off. needless to say, he never had an accident and russ was released of any future potty training duties.
I agree - potty training sucks! You know how hard Duncan was for me, don't you? In fact, maybe Kristy was talking about me - "going into year 5" although Duncan never woke up and decided to do it. He's 11 now and I think he would still be in diapers if it was up to him!!!
I'm working on Sabrina but it's not going well. I'll probably go into year 5 with her just because I'm old and tired and it's too dang much work!
Good luck!
