I Need Help...
I am in charge of the Young Women in Excellence Night at church this year. I am just wondering if any of you guys have any ideas on a theme or something that would be cool to do. And yes, I have checked the Internet and no I am not going to do "Oscar Night'. It is about a month away and I am stumped. Plus, we didn't have this when I was in YW and I have never even been to one before.

One time we did a pageant theme. We made all the girls "Miss Excellence" sashes. We had their Dad (or parent) escort them down the aisle to the stage. The program consisted of the talent portion of the event. Each girl shared their talent. We practiced that song "Walk Tall You're a Daughter" (I think that's close to the name of it).
We also did a modesty fashion show one year. With each girl wearing a different style of clothing. I think we did it from each decade, but you could do different "genres" (evening wear, sports, casual, etc.)
Get a couple YW who need a 10 hour project to help put it together. Delegate a lot, that's always fun. Good luck. I know I have some website references. I'll see if I can find them.

Well, only a handful actually would get up and do something. We wanted everyone to at least show or display something they have been working on through the year.
Another thing we have done is have each girl set up a display table about themselves (interests, hobbies, projects they have been working on through the year, anything to tell about them). Then we had a guest speaker come and speak to the girls and parents about something (it could be one of the values, or anything that you feel is important). Have dessert and let everyone wander around and look at the tables. I think this one was the least stressful, other than finding a guest speaker. We've had the bishop, the stake pres., the stake YW pres., any type of motivational speaker (but not Matt Foley!)
Can you tell I've spent my fair share of time in YW? almost 9 years in a ward and I think I was in 4 different presidencies.
So I'm sure this had been done before, but what about a Surviver Them and how they use to church to "survive" with all the temptations out in the world.

That actually is a good idea, the only problem is that it is on sunday and I have to be spiritual.
Good luck!! I have no clue what to tell you to do. I have been in yw one time and it was only for 3 months. And I wasn't so active when I was a yw and was supposed to be going. But if you have ideas for our Primary Program I'd take those. If I didn't tell you yet, I was recently called as the 2nd counselor in the Primary and found out that it is my duty to write the program! yeah! lucky me! not....
I've got nothin'! I've been in Primary forever, and I never was in YW as a girl. Good luck though!
