This is a sad post today to tell everyone that Grandma Jackie died yesterday, Sept. 2, 2006. This is a picture of her last year doing fireworks at Ian and Wendy's house during the fourth of July. She was very brave to hold that thing.

This is Grandma Jackie and Lucy. Lucy likes to cuddle and she always remembered this night when she watched the fireworks and cuddled will Grandma Jackie. I think this is the memory that will stick with Lucy as she gets older.
One time when we went out to Utah. We all went on a little tour of downtown Salt Lake City. Grandma Jackie went with us. It must have been cold because I was wearing my winter coat and a gray scarf. Jackie says to me, "Were did you get that ugly old scarf?" I laughed and then said, "Jackie, I got it from you for Christmas one year." We laughed and lauged. We talked about that this last July when we went to Utah and laughed some more.
Jackie, we are going to miss you. We will miss your singing "Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies, for Amber waves of grain..." during the fourth of July. I remember last Fourth of July when we were sitting on Ian and Wendy's lawn and you were just saying that you were worried that you had not done enough...and as we were sitting there watching all the family play around and have fun, the thought occured to me that they were all there because of you and I told you that. If it weren't for you, Ian and Gary may have never moved to the states and have the families that they have now. They wouldn't have had two more brothers and a sister that they can goof around with on the Fourth of July. You have done more than you realize. Because of you, we are all where we are today. Thank you, Jackie. We love you and we will miss you.
