Christmas Eve...The Nativity

Every year on Christmas Eve we like to have a reenactment of the Nativity. Last year, we added Samuel the Lamanite to the story. We love that part because we can all throw tin foil rocks at him during his prophesy of the Savior's birth. This year, Lucy had the honor of playing Samuel.

Watch out for the rocks...

Isabel as Mary and John as Joseph....
I was able to be the angel...probably red is not the best color for angels, but what are you going to do?

Gary as the narrator....
Our cute little nativity scene...Jack was a wise man (he liked that idea better when he got to hold a present). Lucy became a shepard and...well, you know the rest.
While we were busy with the Nativity, the elves brought the kids their p.j.'s. John opened his and excitedly declared..."IT's BROWN!!!"" I never saw someone so excited about a brown shirt in all of my life.

After we got comfy in our jammies, Gary finished reading the Christmas Carol to us. That is the first time we read a whole novel like that together as a family and it was pretty cool. Later, on Christmas Day we went and saw the movie.

Then we sent out Santa's loot...John even made Santa a gift.... it was so sweet.

I love all the great photos! What a fun Christmas Eve, I love all your cute traditions. I still think of all of you especially on Christmas Eve and Gary saying "I'll eat the soup, I've eaten worse..." Ahhhh...what a nice guy! Happy new Year!
