I know we have seen our hard times. Like that time we tried to replace you with that new fancy SiLiVeR crockpot. You laughed, I saw you, when the handles of that show-off started cracking off within in that first year we bought him. Then, of course, we came back to you and realized there was no other crock pot in the world that could heat food like you could.
The other day we woke up ready to eat some oats and found that they had not been cooked, that is when we knew there was no heat left in you...we were sad. So sad.
We will miss your pastel flowers, your pastel stripes and your awesome CrOcKpOt ways. Steel-cut oats will never taste the same...we know, we tried it in the bigger CrOcKpOt.
At least you can go on to the next life with satisfaction, knowing that you have lived your life honorably and have served our family to the very best of your ability. We love you and we will miss you. Excuse me...I think I need a moment....

That is too funny! Poor crockpot. I bought a silver one too about a year ago and it's handle fell off the last time I took soup to a super saturday (luckily I didn't drop it!)
very touching post, emotional too. kind of hard to get through w/o tears....
I am sorry for your loss. I am sure it has gone on to make amazing meals in heaven.
I love your new background! Very darling!
So, it finally crapped out huh?
That's too funny, I must say I had to bring Tom over to read your touching tribute. 'Ode to the Crockpot'. In fact we still had our new silver 7 qt. crockpot out from Sunday roast and he went to check it out jokingly and the handle popped off! What is with the silver, is it a curse? O.K. I do want to know how to make oats overnight, do you add anything? Are they just regular oats? I'm emailing you my pudding recipe in exchange for the oat recipe deal?
oh that is just so sad!! I really liked her pretty design. Miss you guys!
