Halloween Pumpkins

Check out what we did between the Saturday sessions of General Conference. Isabel had an assignment to make a Halloween pumpkin for school, so we thought we would all make one. I was at the dentist with the kids and picked up the Family Fun Magazine and got the idea for these.

The cool thing was that each kid picked what they wanted their pumpkin to look like. They even got to paint the pumpkins themselves.

John wanted his pumpkin to look like the monster from "Yo Gabba Gabba".

Mckenzie wanted a cat because she is a cat. So cute!

Isabel made a mummy. She loved her pumpkin so much that she named it and watched TV with it.

Jack wanted a monster with on eye. I tried to give him two eyebrows, but duh! if a monster has one eye than it has one eyebrow. Four year olds can be pretty logical.

Lucy wanted a bat. She came up with the pipe cleaner mouth herself. She loves her bat so much that she has drawn three pictures of it and puts them right by her bat....a present of affection, if you will. The black paint we got for Lucy's wouldn't stick to the pumpkin, so we had to spray paint it with the only black hammered textured spray paint that I had. It looks a little metallic, but I think it turned out pretty fantastic.

Wow, you are so fast!!!! That was a ton of fun. I do think this should be our new tradition! Next year I might make my own and have Ryan make his own. Then, we could have the family!!! How cute is that!

I love your pumpkins! You are so creative. I like that they are not carved... then they last longer. Very Cute.

Love this idea. I guess I need to look closed at my magazine. Or maybe yours are just cuter than what they have in the magazine. And loved the idea of doing it during conference.

kelli I'm going to steal your pumpkin idea for sometime this week. Those totally turned out so cute. The kids will have fun with that one.

I go to the Billings, Montana temple. It doesn't take as long to get to. But let's just come up with a weekend and I'll get the kids together for a visit. I think that would be awesome. Let me know.

Kellie,

Way cute idea. It was great to hear from you on my blog. I can't believe how old your kids are. Especially Isabel. When did we get so old? Crazy. There are a ton of people from St. Louis living in Colorado now. Stay in touch!
