More Family Mountain Fun!!

We just can't get enough of the AWESOME mountains here is beautiful Colorado...so last week we (my four kids and I) headed up to Winter Park, CO with my parents, my two sisters, three nephews, one niece and my new adopted little brother and sister, Buster and Macy. (Those are my parent's dogs, if you didn't know. Let's just say that they are treated VERY well.)

Anywho, we started off in Longmont, CO and decided to take everyone through Rocky Mountain National Park which will take you right to Winter Park. It takes a little longer than the regular way, but the regular way won't let you see all the Elk. Look at that. Right out my window. I even have the side mirror in the picture to prove it.

The first day, we went swimming all day. It was pretty cold in the pool, but we did have two hot tubs. One hot tub was more like a bathtub, so we pretty much stayed in that the whole time.

The next day we bought all day passes from King Sooper to the Winter Park Alpine Slide that included mini golf, a maze, bungee trampolines and another scenic ski lift. It was so fun. First, we went up a ski lift to the top of the mountain.

We tried to take pictures of us going up...this is the best I could do.

This is the restaurant at the top.
This is inside the restaurant at the top. We sat down and started eating and probably took kids to the bathroom like four times. That is just how it is around here.

Then we went down the mountain...is this too much information?
Isabel on the ski lift going down.

Jack and I going down. Oh please, like you didn't want to see us coming down.

The next thing we did was the Alpine Slide....like SEVEN times. The kids wanted to go mini-golfing, but who goes mini-golfing in the mountains when you can go down the Alpine slide like SEVEN times. John and Lucy are waiting for their turn. Lucy got brave and started driving her own sled. John was pretty good at the controls, until he convinced me to let him have his own sled. Apparently he doesn't have enough body weight to push the bar down. I was impressed that he even wanted to do it himself. Jack also tried to drive one himself. I had to pull him behind me because if I didn't he wouldn't move and boy was he mad at me for pulling him.

This is my dad, my sister Lindsay, Reagan, Lucy, Mckenzie, Jack and John waiting to go on the slide. If you look behind them you can see Isabel, Hollie and Roman. They were in line for the fast track...show offs.

They had to clean our track so we had time for more pictures at the gate.

After about five times down the slide we took a break and tried out the trampoline. All five of us (Isabel, Lucy, Jack, John and I) jumped. I only have pics of Isabel and Lucy. I am hoping Lindsay got some more...because Jack was having the time of his life. The guy worked him like a slingshot and he would go so high and laugh and laugh. Pretty darn cute.

Here is Lucy jumping.

After that we went on the Alpine Slide again. I was feeling all cool and stuff so I took Jack and John on the lift by myself. When I got to the top I lifted both boys and started to move forward and lost my balance and fell with the boys. Poor John bumped his head on the deck and got this huge knot that swelled up like a balloon and freaked me out pretty good. We iced him up and we wanted to do the slide again. So, we did and he loved it AGAIN. I was worried he would hate the lift, but the only crying he did was when we got off the slide and had to leave because the park closed. He wanted to go again. Whew! He is a brave boy.

The day after the Alpine slide, we just took it easy around the condo because we were pooped. But the day after that we took the kids on a hike on the Frasier River Trail. We stopped off at a few places and threw rocks.

Sometimes we forget which direction our hand should be that is throwing the rock.

So fun and look how amazing this river is....

Isabel showing off her awesome climbing/posing for the camera skills...you need those, if you are going to become a famous actress, you know.

We had fun taking off our shoes and walking in the river.

Here is the picture of the trail. It is all paved. Hollie and I rode our bikes on it a couple of times and it is so pretty. I LOVE it so bad. (That is what John says.)

I really do love it here in Colorado. It is so pretty and the weather is amazing. We had a great time with the family. The boys can't stop talking about their cousins and the Alpine slide. I thought I took more pictures, but I didn't. Check out Hollie and Lindsay's (coming soon, I am sure)blogs for more photos. Thanks everyone, for the good times! We had a blast!

What a blast!! That looks like such a good time. Colorado is so beautiful and the weather you have been having... just great! Seriously jealous about the SEVEN alpine rides. How far from your place is it? And you looked totally hot in the picture of you going up the lift!!

I totally want the details!! That looks like so much fun! I want to do that for Labor day weekend, or even before. I was thinking of Heritage square, but that looks WAY more fun!! You guys do fun COlORADO trips. Can I be adopted??

That was a wicked sweet time! We totally need to do that one again. I think I like it better than Estes.

Okay so I was ALMOST jealous that you live in beautiful Colorado. It looks absolutely fabulous there. What a fun vacation. It looks like everyone had such a great time! Anyway, I said ALMOST because I have this strong memory of pictures you had posted of winter... with snow 3/4 the height of your house (maybe a little exageration on my part). Yuck. I will be jealous of your summers... but NEVER of your winters.
