This weekend we took a badly needed trip to Estes Park, CO. We rented a 3 bedroom cabin that was absolutely fabulous!! When we got there, Lucy started dancing around on the deck, like this...

Of course, the first thing the girls did when we got to the cabin was sit on the futon and watch nickelodeon or something. But, how cute are they watching TV? So cute.

This is a picture of the dining room into the kitchen. It really was a nice place.

This was the Master Bedroom that Gary and I slept in...

...it had a fireplace and a hot tub right outside that door...nice.

It also had this big closet that we let the boys sleep in. The girls had a bedroom and so did Hollie and Ryan, so when Jack said," Where is my bedroom?" I got this brilliant idea to show him the closet and he freaked out..."that's not a bedroom,
whaaaaaa!" But, when we set up the bed, John thought it was cool, so then Jack jumped on board. Soon after it was a boy's only room with no girls allowed. (psst, Lucy get out, no girls allowed!)

Our first night in Estes we did what every tourist would do and that was hit the Bakery! Hello! We had apple pie, apple blueberry pie, sticky buns and a brownie. We were in heaven! Sugar heaven, that is!

Gary loved that apple blueberry pie so much that we went back to that place two more times.
uhmmmm.

Yum! Yum! give me some!

Sticky buns are so sticky and so
goooood.

Then we relaxed by the river and took a million pictures.

This is the view from our bedroom. Awesome! I am really using the word "awesome" like it was meant to be used in that sentence!
Yay me!

The next morning we woke up to our "awesome" view. Hollie went straight for the hot tub about 8am and pulled a
Lorraine from Mad TV. It was pretty funny. Probably not so funny to the people around us that were still trying to sleep.
After that Gary ran about four miles, then Hollie and I ran about four miles. We got a little lost and it took us about an hour to run that four miles. Oh well. Then we headed off to the place where family's have tons of fun. The Family Fun Park. They have big slides, go karts, bumper boats, mini-golf, and all sorts of things. This is Hollie and Ryan racing down the slide.

Then the Forrest's raced down the slide. John and I were last. That slide sure created some static electricity. Ouch!

Then someone said, "Hey, let's do the bumper boats!" I think that actually might have been Ryan. But he also said, "yeah, let's not squirt each other."
uhm, yeah, right. We were soaking, but happy!

Were do you go to dry off from the bumper boats? To the Go-Karts, of course! John helped me drive. We kept passing everybody and would have won the whole race until Ryan and
Mckenzie crashed into us and we spun out. We kinda caused a pile up. Whoops!

Jack was hilarious. Gary told him to make his wet hair
spikey like him so they would be cool. All day he would try to raise his hair up by placing the palms of his hands on the side of his head and move them upward, so that his hair would be
spikey. The best was when he would run and spike his hair at the same time. I wish I had a video. It was so dang cute.

This is "the Rock". This is where we bring everyone we know and put all of our kids on this rock and take their picture. We have had other cousins on this rock from both sides, friends kid's and all kinds of photos on this rock. We love this rock. See that water fall behind the rock? Nice? Here we are in Rocky Mountain National Park. This is a great place to visit if you are ever in Colorado. Jack is not a fan of the rock.

Some views from the very top of the Rocky Mountains.

We all hiked to the top of the peak of the highest point in the Rocky Mountains and as you can see we were 2.3 miles above sea level. Woe!

Isabel is a goof ball. We camped here at
RMNP about two years ago and she took this same kind of picture with the ranger hat. I think the goal is to have a picture of her like this every two years of her life. I actually think she would LOVE that.

We had an awesome time. The mountains out here are incredible. They are why we love love love living in Colorado along with the fabulous weather. Well, if you are absolutely dying to read more about this trip because you can't stand it and you just have too. Then go and visit
Hollie's blog for more information.
P.S. Megan you missed out and we missed you. Sad.

Kellie what an awesome trip!! That looks like such a blast, and Hollie sounds like one awesome person to vacation with. Maybe we should come with you next time, do you think Jack and John would let us have their awesome room? Seriously that trip looked like such a BLAST!! You are coming to the Caymans... right?! Miss and love you dearly!
What a fun trip! I remember going somewhere similar to this with you guys and the Jewells! It was so fun and all the wildlife is amazing! Those cabins look like they rock!
I think you captured the fun, wow the bumper boats were excellent -- especially squirting Ryan who did not want to get wet. Winning all the go kart races has to be a topper on my list, but again I knew I was going to win all the races (thanks to Kellie's spin out at the end). I must admit I was a little nervous your racing skills are impressive.
Man! my leg hurts from pushing on the gas so hard (go kart go!) :-)
mmmmmm!, apple blueberry piiiiiiiiiie . (in the voice of Homer Simpson).
I love how I look like I have to pee in that first picture....awesome! That was a ton of fun! AWESOME pictures!
That go cart accident was SO your falt! I totally would of won...I demand a rematch!
Sounds like you guys had a great time! Steve and I went to Estes Park for our wedding night, in February. There is not much to do there in February... We'll have to try it again!!
What a fun trip. We love Estes Park too, it is so cool. I'm sure you are loving having Hollie here. I am trying to get Tamra to come out and we could have a little reunion if you promise not to call Hollie Fisher Stevens.
