Woe! That means only two years away from 40! I better start planning that birthday party. Well, we go all out here for birthdays...decorations, presents, cakes, you name it, we do it. (It might not be what Martha Stewart would imagine, but it happens nonetheless.) Gary woke up to some pretty nice decorations, if I do say so myself. He got tons of candy and other delicious snacks from Cost World Market. We went to church. Hollie came home early and made some curry chicken and this awesome cake.

I guess in Africa they don't use as much sugar as we do here in the U.S. A., so we tried to make Gary a cake like he used to have when he was little. We mixed some jam with some cream cheese, added strawberries to the middle and then dusted the top with powdered sugar. I am a loser and forgot to buy candles, so we used two little toothpicks instead. Sorry, Gary! Pretty soon all of the kids will be in school and I will be so smart again.

I don't think this cake was exactly what he had when he was growing up, but it WAS very good.

Did I mention that Megan came over and helped us celebrate. Thanks, Megan!
Happy Birthday, Gary! You are awesome and we love you! Thanks for being you!

Happy 38th Gary! Wow you're getting old! I say that only because Tom is right behind you so I'm allowed right?
Happy Birthday Gary! Russ turns the big 4 - 0 next May! He is already going into depression over it. I need help with party ideas. I've got to make it a good one.
That cake was awesome if I do say so myself:) That was fun. It's fun to be around people that actually like their birthdays:)
